Car looks 100% better Cuda, the rear arches looked as if they were going to be a nightmare, you have blended it together really well, i love the fat back tyres and I have always loved the rover v8 , you never get over having one.
I am sure the purists will have kittens ,but you have saved this one when everyone else decided it was past saving. Well done mate its a really unique looking car.

Oh and need more pics, have you polished up that V8 yet,

Default thankyou thankyou!

i bought it a mess, not scared of having a go and getting stuck in, the v8 was already in and so were jag axles.....i had idea how i wanted it to look and the jag wheels stuck out way past where the needed to be so brainwave to use beetle rears, next step to get beetle rears on FRONT... then split and widen front bumper. run it round then paintshop.

Default hello

hello thankyou, will go to body shop soon as done front wings etc, its already a v8 but have chance of 90s ex rover championship engine from pal, it ran in a mk1 escort back in day, fully sorted rover v8 that ran 450hp on 32 stage nitrous, still a light motor compared to chevvy with blower, cheeper and a straight swap so could be going that route, not want to make her front heavy as chev all iron and the blower good few kgs.as for colour ive spied a dodge nitro buzzing around in a real nice blue metallic, thinking that and satin black bumpers? ta for positive input, think ive scared the puritans away lol

You'll find most folk on the Amazon section are very polite and if they haven't got anything nice to say they won't say anything. What you have is very personal to you and reminds me of some of the things I saw being done in the 80s so a lot of people that were around then would have moved on from that type of look I would say. Most folk here are into original Amazons so of course you're not going to get many fans with the way the car looks on here and if one or two comments upset you then you're best off on a forum that caters for your tastes. I personally think it's our car, if you're happy with the car then why would you care what others think, crack on and enjoy the car...

It's awesome don't let anyone tell you no different!
I saved my V8 260 estate from becoming transplant fodder and another dead 260.
The ironblock weight is 1/3 more than Rover V8.
Rover V8's cost a fortune to tune + results are negligible.

I'd go 1UZ next time after reading loads + watching videos.

Anyway looking forward to seeing this painted up.
If we all drove std Volvos + had 3/4 of a Labrador it would be a boring place!

Just found this thread. First, good *&$%$!! job for saving a car - any car. Second, those flares WORK, it is just such a different car that at first I couldn't get my head around it. Third, WHERE IS THAT VIDEO?? ( -:
