Struggling Starting
Hello
My Volvo XC90 2005 has recently started to struggle to start. For a period of time my fuel filter bleed nipple was leaking and was replaced. Also I had a new battery fitted which needed replacing. Is it possible air may have got into the system? Does anyone know how to check or bleed the fuel lines to rule it out? Any other possibilities? The car does start eventually every time, and it doesnt happen on every ignition. Any help appreciated Thank you |

I'm no expert but I'm inclined to think that, since the car will always start but the problem is recurrent, if this *were* to have anything to do with air in the fuel system then it's not such much the requirement for manual bleeding that's the issue, so much as there is still air getting getting into the system.
However there are many other potential causes, including leaks in the induction system and various intermittent sensor failures. If it were my car, I'd be putting it on VIDA to see what error codes (if any) were being returned before I went further.

You will get more useful answers if you tell us what type of engine is fitted, (5,6 or 8 cylinder, petrol, petrol+lpg or diesel)
