Thankyou to every one on this forum.
I have my doubts about the future for my fathers car, but it was his decision to sell on Ebay, unfortunately he wanted the best price he could get for it. He has never listened to anyone in his life and he wasn't about to start now. I'm really sorry that we were not able to find it a home with someone on this forum. I'm especially sorry that Brians wife couldn't be persuaded !! Wishing you all the very best. Clive |

Thanks clive I did try my best but the lady was not for persuading this time.I even showed her others on ebay that wanted a fair bit of work doing but were around the £1000 mark.
That's three times I've listened to her! I must be loosing my touch.First was a lovely austin A30 which she wanted but said it was to dear?It had been modernised with many new upgraded parts and was fully restored.Went for half it''s true value. Then there was the 133 amazon which had £4000 worth of racing parts fitted.I even went and saw that the nite it was finishing. And lastly your fantastic condition 340 which in my mind sold very cheaply. One thing I'm sure of is I know a bargain when I see one. Take care clive and I hope somebody does cherish it? Regards Brian. |

I'm in the wrong game, making a car worse, removing parts of it and it doubles its value? hmph

Yes I definately should have ignored the wife.
A real shame that it ended up like this. Why they can't just find a rather rough looking one to mod amazes me. Probably due to it being so cheap.Still it could have been banger racing at that price. Regards Brian. |

To be fair it was F/S on here for ages and no one stumped up the cash to save it from this fate.
However that said it's really not the end of the world, it's a fairly simple job to reinstall the stock interior and get another un-welded diff/complete rear axle. The rust on the front valence worries me though, mine has gone there too and the panel is unavailable, so unless you can fabricate, it won't pass the next Mot. Atleast it hasn't been Matte blacked!!
