Volvo XC40 FWD/AWD auto box
I originally posted this in the XC40 sub-forum but no replies:
I have been told that the XC40 uses different gearboxes depending on the FWD or AWD configuration. The FWD uses the AWF8F35 and the AWD the AWF8G30. These are the manufacturer codes for the torque converter gearbox not the dual clutch fitted to later models. I thought that all XC40( and for that matter some other models used the same auto box which (TG-81SC). Thanks |

It does
.
TG-81SC is Volvos code name for the versions built for them. The only difference between fwd and AWD versions is the take off at the differential housing for the transfer box. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AWF8F35

Yes, exactly that. The output is from the differential housing and doesn't change the internals.
