Are there any codes relating to the MAF? If not, there's not much point in changing it. Same with the ECM... that would be very expensive.

Mine is a 2009. So I think a euro 4 as I couldn't find any vacuum hoses.

Still getting the same codes as in the first post P0101 MAF problem/air leak.
and P0234.

The turbo is electronically controlled on euro 4 engines onwards. Your car is 2009, so it definitely won't have a vacuum controlled wastegate.

I think you need to bring it to a specialist, otherwise it'll end up being a parts cannon. Get them to diagnose it properly... You'll be better off, instead of replacing part after part.

I'm going to try a replacement MAF sensor first. to see what that cures.

So I have been monitoring the Intake temperature on the Torque app and interestingly the temperature increases when the pedal is not engaged.

My dad's S60 (2011 D3 163bhp) has this and haven't figured out why. I'm keeping an eye on this thread; good luck!

Well I have tried the MAF sensor to no avail. Which is good. What I have noticed is that the throttle butterfly is completely open.

These readings are at a warm idle.
Reading 89.8, so I actuated it abit and reduced the closure to about 30.

So I think it may be the throttle actuator that may be next port of call.

I'm may be seriously wrong but I thought it only closed when turning the engine off to ensure an orderly shut-down.

Maybe I don't know. It is either that or the vnt motor on the turbocharger. As the fluttering I am experiencing could be compressor surge

So UPDATE.

I've managed to fix it with a part costing less than £3.

The e clip which attached the actuator arm to the ecm had come off! Quick trip to Toolstation and car is back to happy running!

Still have a few fault codes to clear. But it is performing as it should!

It fixed the wastegate flutter, the overboost issue that kept appearing.
On my Torque app I'm still getting some codes but overall driving has substantially improved. I'll post some photos this weekend
