Default Roof not closing 4inches from wind screen

HI

Hope some one can help , my 1999 c70 imaculate roof is not closing ,stops around 4 inches from windscreen ,returns to closed position no problem though?

Original control module burnt out and purchased two second hand modules ,but both are stopping 4" from the windscreen , any suggestions on what could be causing this ,would be great .

The new modules need calibrating to the car, perhaps?

I have heard of some folks swapping modules with no calibration needed and others who have had to have them calibrated.

hi, Same as Its on this one some people swap them no problem outhers say you need to code them. i am one of the lucky ones that just swapped over, the only reason they fail is the same as abd module, dry solder.

When i swapped mine. i did a window reset, and then a full roof reset,

Key in pos 2, then all from the drivers door control, roll the windows one at a time to fully down, hold button for 15 secs then all the way up and hold for 15 secs, confirm this has worked by opening the door the glass should drop a few mm to allow for the roof, and when you close shop pop back up and you should hear the window motor.

Then turn key to off pos,

Switch key back to pos 2, and press the roof button it should make a bong and light should flash hold for 15 secs, the start the motor. In park/neutral with hand brake raised try the roof operation.

I have the same issue with one of mine but it's intermittent. Likely reason is that part of the fabric is jamming the frame or could be down to the fabric ribbons being stretch or too long.

When it stops, take your finger off the button and check all the framework for something catching or rubbing - it doesn't take much to stop it in it's tracks!

Just a thought, is the car on a level surface when you close the roof?
