Not mine but had a guy call me to see if I was interested in one. It sounds like it is in A1 condition but it isn't cheap, offers around £8K but if as good as described then probably worth it as you won't have to spend anything on it if it is what you are after. Pm if you are only genuinely interested and a regular poster on here otherwise I won't give his number out.

He did say but I wasn't paying attention as my English geography isn't that great. If you're interested let me know and you can give him a call. Nice old guy who knows lots about old Volvos.

I have been looking at another estate which some of you guys might be interested in. Its a nice old car but being B Reg is on drum brakes. Its not for me because it will be my main family car and I dont fancy being around motorway traffic and a car full of children and camping gear without servo assisted discs. They may be perfectly good but in the end they are as good as the drivers around me and the space they leave. I will happily put you in touch with the seller who is looking for 4K ish but that will be down to your own negotiations in the end

Drums shouldn't be a deal breaker. The disks from a later car will bolt straight on. You need to swap both front and rear brakes.

Not a deal breaker if cash is no issue but quite a lot to buy the parts when you tot it up- discs, calipers,servo- almost at £500 quid for that lot and thats fitting myself. Too close to the bone on the cash already. Would be a great car for the right person though

The drum brake cars probably stop better than the disk brake cars in normal use. The only negative with them is that they can be awkward to set up so they stop dead straight and they will fade if you use them really hard. However you really need a mountain road or some seriously agressive driving to make them fade. It's an issue on a rally car, but not on a car being driven along a motorway.
