Just in case I need to get my cylinders rebuilt can you advise who did the job for you please. Is that their business or are they by remote chance a parts stockist for our rare vehicles?

On a separate issue, I need a replacement indicator stalk...just managed to break something inside mine, now it just flops to the left / bottom, so left signal only! Do you have one for sale??? Thanks, Chris |

Thanks for info. Almost certainly have a stalk switch: will look at my two cars here to make sure there are no changes over the years (easier than looking up the parts book on-line!), look in store and get back to you.

Chris, I looked in my later car here plus the late spares-car and found one HOWEVER upon checking the parts-books see there are two listed..... post-chassis number #52790 it is 1210245-6 but pre that is 1210246-3 so the obvious question - whats your chassis/VIN number? Judging by the age of your car, acc to my records of most surviving UK 164s it could be close.
Most of my stuff (like box of stalk switches....) is elsewhere but I may have the other type here too: let me know your car's details to be sure. Paul |

Chris - your car is an earlier car, with that VIN-number. Tomorrow I'll get my later car out of the way so I can look at the switch in my '68 car: I have two slightly different switches in my hand but neither have recognised part-numbers visible. Their mounting holes are the same on each and both have 4 spade-connector contacts but one has two flat across near the base, one centrally just above them then one halfway up on the right. The other has 3 radially mounted near the base and one centrally up nearer the top. Difficult to describe but if your wiring under the cowl comes in a plug-in block, you need the right switch.
I'll take the cowl off my older car tomorrow to see what that is like: might you be able to do similar on your car? Unfortunately the pictures on an on-line parts supplier aren't detailed enough to see differences between the 3 switches they offer so physical research necessary. Too dark out there now to do it..... Paul |
