Wanted wheel & tyre
Hi,due to a nightmare with a locking wheel nut.The wheel needs to be cut off.I am after the following-
One Atlantis alloy, preferably clean with no kerbing. (54 plate SE 18") plus tyre 235/60/R18 (ideally with some tread left).Due the weight issue,I could really do with a collection if the North West (live in Southport). Please pm me if you have one for sale. Thanks, Boston Boy |

hi i recently had a nightmare with my locking nuts on my xc i even got new wheel keys from norway overnight delivery but by the third wheel they were done so my garage welded a nut onto the wheel nut by welding into the hole in the nut and put a sleave arond it to protect the wheel as much as poss and he managed to get it out good luck gary

One of my locking wheel nuts would not come off so a local guy welds a nut on using titanium which does not damage the alloy . Now don't use the locking wheel nuts as they are too much hassle .

Have you cut the wheel off yet? if not why not post a picture of the damaged locking nut as that might provoke a few more suggestions on how to remove the wheel bolt rather than chopping the wheel off - Mike

Wheel nut issue
Many thanks for the reply. The car has been back to the supplying dealer (Volvo) last week. They managed to remove 3 wheels with their master key/wrench.The fourth could not be moved.Prior to this I sent off for a new master key which as you can see did not work.It appears someone has really given this fourth wheel some stick. The mechanic spent nearly 2 hours on this wheel alone trying everything they know .Subsequently the wheel has some major damage around the locking nut. They have agreed to cut the wheel off and replace when I have managed to locate one.(they quoted £400.00 to replace it!).Plan B now, thus the need to find a wheel & tyre.
