Hi all,
I missed it too not being on Facebook and only figured it out when loads of volvos were passing me on the toll when I was taking my mom back home being Mother’s Day. I’ve got my pass at least...

Default VOLVO600 Bruntingthorpe RE-SCHEDULED 27th June 2021

You will have seen that the UK government on Sunday 10th May, announced the first changes to the country’s COVID19 lockdown measures.

Your health, safety and wellbeing remain our top priority, when planning and running any meeting or event so we would like to let you know what this means for our world record attempt planned for June 2020.

What will happen next?

For the event to be enjoyed and to be successful, we need social distancing and large group gathering restrictions to be relaxed and this will not happen in time for June 28th.

When we looked beyond June to our planned backup date in September 2020, we predict and understand that local administrations in Scotland, Northern Ireland, The Republic of Ireland, Wales, The Channel Islands, Europe and England are all choosing to adopt different approaches to their lock down and exit strategies further complicating the relaxation of restrictions.

All of the above regions have seen patrons commit to attending, so as a team we feel strongly that as we started the journey together, we needed to agree an alternative date that will allow all of us to enjoy the day and break the record together. After all we are one Volvo family and family means no one gets left behind.

There is a long way to go before our respective countries are clear of this crisis, and it’s vital we all continue to act with caution and to avoid further outbreaks of the virus.

So today, with heavy hearts, we know that news of postponing the Volvo600 event for this year may not be welcome news, however, we look forward to a new date in 2021 knowing it’s absolutely the right thing to do.

The New Date!

Over the past two days we have been in contact with both Guinness World Records and Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds to secure a new date that we can all look forward too and finally reassemble for our second attempt at the record.

The new date for VOLVO600 is Sunday June 27th, 2021 at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds.

We hope that the 1000 plus team members who have all bought an event pass, the Bruntie Buddie Volunteers and various traders will keep safe and hold onto their Event Passes which will still be valid for the new date in 2021.

However, if you simply wish to be refunded, we will of course understand and will offer a refund to those who return their unsnapped Event Pass back to us.

In the meantime, thank you again for your determination and support. The contribution that every one of you make to our meetings, our Facebook, Instagram and webpages makes us proud, in particular the exceptional efforts so many of you have made in helping the raise money for the British Heart Foundation which will continue to be our chosen charity of the event.

So for now keep your Volvo parked up …but not parked up forever.
Be safe, stay kind and stay well as we can’t break the record without you

Sincerely yours the TorqueVolvo and Volvo600 Event Team

I understand completely, thanks for the update.

I was beginning to wonder with this June not being too far away now.

New decals are in the pipeline and should be available quite soon, new designs and hopefully replacement digits to simply change the date on your current stickers.

Deep down I had a feeling this was going to be a non-event due to the corvid situation, but being an optimist I was hoping it would go ahead. Had been looking forward to the National BKV and the Northern BKV, both kicked into touch. And really looking forward to another go at the world record attempt, being at last years event it was a kick in the spuds to discover we missed out on technicalities. Anyway moan over, and to say a big well done to the Torque Volvo and the Volvo 600 team for all the work done in trying to get the record in the bag. Hoping next year brings better fortune. Keep safe, happy motoring, and keep those Volvos rolling.

I have sent an email asking for my vehicle details to be changed to another car a few weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. My pass inside the lanyard has also been lost in the great corona house tidy! Is it possible to get a replacement pass please?

You can message Tina Mills via FB Volvo600 page to arrange a replacement pass. Cheers

It will probably end up in the same 'safe place' as the first one! Mind you the 'safe place' is also known as 'the last place you look' (or it is with me).
