Does anyone know how the motor comes out of these power fold mirrors, I've taken the long Torx bolts out but it's refusing to shift? There looks to be a flat steel washer under the bottom cover looks like one needs a three pinned tool to twist this fixing washer out then the whole unit should come apart. I'm in the process (amongst other things)of upgrading to power fold mirrors, have fitted the passenger one, I've obtained a drivers door one, but the hinge mechanism seems a bit floppy, so I wanted to strip it down and see whats whet, my other question is could I use my non power fold one and just fit the motor? the action on the ext. drivers door is good. When I spoke to Volvo Chiswick they told me SW upgrade was about £35! not too bad.

Any assistance gratefuly received, thanks.

If it is the nearside, if you look at the pic I sent, you will see, among the pictures, a part number on the underside.

Yours will have same, in same position.
Note mine had puddle lights but were not power fold, as no switch in dash. so it's not a given.

My old powerfold one that's bust is still folding fine, puddle light works, glass is loose but the mechanism seems to move it ok but pops out and could hear it operate itself . I've had it on ebay for parts but now joy, now down to £6 start plus £9 postage.
