If only Volvo did a big estate with similar levels of luxury to the XC90...

Even one with a raised ground clearance and a slightly raised seating position.

Yeah - if only they made a big estate someone of my height (6' 7") didn't have to bend double to get down into - oh hang on they do, it's called the XC90!

That's fair! My FIL is 6'8" and finds mine really low, he's got an XC90 himself. I'm 5'7", 28 years old and in pretty good shape and find it low to get in / out of!

Even more fun trying to get into my wife's V40 - that's horrendous! Fortunately that's been sold - in early March pre-lockdown so we still have it but hopefully once the Mazda dealership reopens next week .....

I can imagine. The V90 had to go in and have a whole new Sensus system fitted, so was away for around a week if not a bit more, and my courtesy car was an XC60. I certainly felt the difference getting back into mine. I've just raised the driving position a little bit though, and it's made a fair amount of difference / reduced the dignity I lose getting out of it in a tight spot!

Yep I can imagine - no idea why Volvo chose on everything other than the XC's to make the door entry so shallow -a case of form over function I'm afraid so anything other than an XC is a complete non-starter for me. Mine in for a service next week so let's see what loaner they give me - anything other than an XC will be tricky, a V40 (I've said I don't want) would be a nonsense.

Having moved from an XC90 to and XC60 and now back to an XC90... I can honestly say... it's up to you.

The XC90 is a different league in size... mostly due to the vast boot and extra seats.

The XC60 isn't that much different in size in the rear seat area... it fits my 3 kids equally as well. A slightly different shape... a little bigger in the XC90 but not enough to be bothered.

Its all about the boot space that you want and need!

Thanks everyone - decision made. Picking up a new XC90 B5 Inscription Pro on Monday - the dealer managed to come up with a deal which suited my pocket, after a lot of negotiations.
