Post XC90 D5 (185bhp) Miles Per Tank.

Hi guys, been using my D5 for a little while now and I am just trying to question my MPG or Miles Per Tank.

I would say I do mixed driving, some town, A roads (stuck in traffic) etc, driving style I would say is normal..

I would say I am getting around 350 - 400 miles from a tank when light comes on, wouild say more avagage 350 miles per tank.

What are you guys getting PER TANK??

I am also talking real world driving, no 600miles all round trip at 50mph lol

Again coming from different I a am unsure if my D5 is using more fuel than it shouold or I am just for getting it's a heavy car.

Is there a option on VIDA I can check fuel use and Injector fuel usage etc??

Any other input?

That sounds right. I have the later version d5 with 200hp which is more efficient and on constant 75% motorway I average 32mpg which is below 500miles. The 185 is known as the most thirsty.

Hi. yes I would say I am between 30 to 31mpg with the 185bhp.

Is there a way I can chek my fuerl usage with VIDA or this sounds about right to you?

Your 200bhp you must be getting around 350 miles per tank ?

I am sure I am between 300 to 350 max real world if that sounds right?

I have a 56 plate d5 auto and I get 300-350 miles per tank as well a mixture of driving, I did get over 400 once but that was on a long run to Scotland.

Generally I get 28-32 mpg around town and 35-37 mpg on a run and that is calculating it between fill ups the computer is currently saying 32.3 but it’s never that.

I get 35 or 36mpg on the dash which I calculate at 32mpg. I get over 400 miles from it, sometimes more. It’s a tank, I can easy put 75 quid in.

I have the 185bhp version now, and it is more thirsty than my previous 163bhp model.

I get exactly 466 miles per tank!

I know this because I always reset the trip meter when I fill up. When I ran out of fuel on the A14 (because the fuel gauge was over-reading; a different story for another day) the trip meter read 466 miles.

I'm getting 32 mpg on a run average from my 185 .

If you can stay in cruise at about 76 mph you can squeeze out 35 mpg.

Very best at that speed in 4 years of ownership was 37 mpg but not managed to achieve since.

I've noticed tyre pressure helps (39psi best) and running on nitrogen instead of air may give you a few more miles.

A very good point! I too run at 39psi. I find the vehicle handles better also!

It's such a strange thing to read all of the posts on here and to see the difference between the 163bhp and 18bhp.

The 185bhp does seem so much heavy on fuel with other people people getting around 31mpg.

I think my display will be around 29mpg to 31mpg, if I work it out between fill up I worked out at 31.2mpg...

I am sure if I done a 200mile round trip on a M road I could see 33,34 mpg maby??

So my 30,31 mpg for mixed driving sounds about right for the 185bhp?
