Just as a follow up on my original post

I did the front pads yesterday, fairly straight forward and possibly one of the easiest I have done

It would have been a bit pleasanter had it not started drizzling half way through despite a good forecast but hey ho you get what you get

I measured the discs and they were well within tolerance

I think I had my moneys worth out of the old pads, they were thinner than expected

I could have done with a trolley jack, someone borrowed mine years ago and never got it back, the scissor jack I had to use was hard work

I also learned to my surprise how useless the original wheel brace was, it was clearly unused, and slipped off with the first attempt bending the socket rendering it useless (and yes it was on fully) also getting the original vehicle jack out of the polystyrene was nigh on impossible (gave up and used another scissor jack I had), I wouldn't have liked to to find out either of those at 2am on a wet motorway trying to change a wheel, so shall make sure I have a decent brace or socket set in the car

My standard in car kit is hydraulic bottle jack, 2 ft breaker bar, single hex socket, and a torque wrench to put the wheel back on.

2 am on a wet and windy motorway and I am not waiting 3 hours for the rac man.

I am just grateful for finding out before it became a nasty shock out on the road

I will keep a 1/2" drive t bar with socket, and metal tube in the car, I have yet to try out the standard car jack, if its anything like the brace it won't be up to much, but will test it first

I wouldn't bother with a torque wrench, that can wait until I get home, its al extra weight isn't it

Question But which pads??

So I've just done the same operation to our 2008 v70 with the 300mm discs at the front. Unfortunately i discovered once it was all together again that the local supplier has given me the wrong pads! I fitted a DP1998 set (Bendixs recommendation as best i can make out) but they end up sitting 8mm outside the disc and not covering all the easy in to the inner disc edge.
I THINK what i need is the Dp2236 as it looks like what came out of the caliper.
Can anyone confirm?
