haha funky these are a nightmare, mine is booked in with Shemtek friday so fingers crossed. He has mapped one other S40 with a K16 but the older one and thats running fine now I think, so im hoping he might be able to deal with mine as well.

Mark I would stay clear from Shark stuff, ive just had a shark map that completly ruined my ECU.

You are probably just looking for a stage 1 so its not to bad as there are loads of options but something more custom I would head to Tim or Shemtek as they seem to know their stuff or go online and speak to Hilton Tuning. But if you deal with Shem or Tim, be prepaired to play a waiting game although Shem does communicate and respond.

Good luck on Friday Dom... and sorry to hear of your Shark problems, that's them off the list for me. Tim serviced my car and changed belts/did the block mod back in January, so I know it can take some time to get a response from him...!

ok that good, yeh depends on the time of day you hit the autobahns as they can get quite busy. Yes took mine on the autobahn as well defenitly interesting to see how these feel at speed, but your car should feel very safe at that speed and also quite a bit faster as well.
Dom, here's the YT video that I was sent, will look for more as someone said something about a cable tie which doesn't feature in this particular vid...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1Ej...IGaz70tLGHq9Aw

EDIT: found a cable tie video... looks like they press the clutch inwards so it's closer to the compressor and within the 0.3-0.5mm range!

Thanks Dom.

Dug around a little more, there's a few more articles on the cable ties solution (see the last post on the first link):

Just adding here so there's a decent amount of reference for when I tackle this!

Did 135MPH in my 9-5 Aero on the Autobahn, I reckon it could have gone to 160MPH but gets pretty dangerous and scary at that point.. Also didn't really trust the car's brakes that well.

Definitely back off if you're losing confidence for any reason.

Markos - I am literally having this issue now again, the temporary "from outside" solution lasted for less than a year (25k miles for me) so dont count on it to be permanent.

Dom - The alternative to your tool is this kit - a bit more versatile but 2x the cost, althought it doesnt have to come from US. Gonna use that to have my shimming done.

stupid compressor gap...

Good to know Lizard... Nice kit in the link too. What about simply buying a new clutch for the compressor (I heard it's a £30 part, but don't quote me), is that a better (or easier) option?

So you had to get a new ECU then?
