Totally would support an endorsement for incartec and its team on standby to help with the installation over the phone.
The kit they provide fits flawlessly without much modification to the existing system. When you are ready to double din, let me know and if you need help and in the area, I am more than willing to lend my expertise. |

Update
So i had a fuel leak recently and decided to get it looked at from the stealership. I had a full diagnostic done and they told me I had over £5k in repairs to do....Sooo....Its community help and backyard mechanics for me then!
I have fixed the leak. Turns out with some cutting of the carpet I did not have to remove the entire rear interior of the car to access the fuel pump plate. IN the end it was something as simple as the locking nut! A simple trip to the stealership and the car was right as rain. But the fuel gauge is now off! |

Mot time
After a good service I realised that the brakes were looking kinda weak so with a bit of research I managed to get a full set of drilled, grooved disks, pads and rear drum shoes for about £250 pounds.
*Special thanks to MTEC Brakes Ebay store Before and After below |

Locking wheelnuts stuck
Soo had my car returned from its MOT. The locking key has somehow disappeared...and I CANNOT get the locking wheel nuts off. I have requested new keys from Mcgard and they have kindly sent me 3 sets of keys for £16! Bargain!
However I have damaged all three keys with no nuts loosening! If any of you gurus out there have a suggestion I am more than willing to hear you out! |

Hi
Great work. Just a word of caution on using those disk and pads. I had used the very same on my previous car. They did the job but the disk material is quite soft and the groves just helped to wear out the pads quite quickly. When I came to change the pads from the mintex supplied I noticed what I could only describe as an waves pattern on the pads and disks. As the holes were all drilled on the same spot as the went around rather than staggered the wear was built up on the same place pad and disk. They do the job but do wear quicker than hoped. I run plain brembo on mine and via eBay same money. Good luck with the rest of the rebuild. |

Poly Engine Mounts
Since I was checking a pipe on the car I decided now would be the best time to return to the £5k+ list from the steelership and tackled the engine mounts.
I know there is a lot of debate about using Poly instead of rubber and I have started to poly my bushes despite the warning of increased vibration. I have now done the top and bottom mount. Soon I will do the torque Mounts and the frame bushings in a few days but having done half of it here is my verdict: First, yes my mounts were SHOT! The top mount had a LOT of play in it though still serviceable. I just cut out the rubber to get the bush removed and Powerflex Diesel (yellow) mount was easy to install. The bottom mount...well....yeah it was so gone that the small hole had no bush in it whatsoever! Again, nothing the home Mechanic cant tackle so it was on in no time. *I cant believe the stealership wanted to charge me £500+ for the replacement. OK so The vibration noise at idle is RIDICULOUS! Its quite intrusive in sound but the car is not vibrating any more than usual. I hope the noise is just the poly settling in. Performance is noticeably different. Sharper, firmer, and smoother. I dont believe an XC90 should be at an idle and should be cruising so I am not that bothered by the idle vibration noise. |

My garage man said that the AA/RAC usually carry these kits too - so could try that option. |
