Default XC90 Diagnostic Tools

Below is an email from me and the reply I received concerning my enquiry about this...http://www.autoobd2.co.uk/wholesale/...FYUKfAod4Q4aJg

Does anyone know if there is an interface device and PC (laptop) software available that does ALL of the following; read control module error codes, reset alarms/warnings etc, change control module parameters.

The device/software package above seems to be very limited to me, unlike the Ross Tech VCDS system I have for my Touareg and wife's R32 Golf.

Oh, and I should add that I have had a good trawl through the forum but not managed to find what I am looking for.

Hi,
I am interested to know a little more of the capabilities provided by your VOLVO VIDA DICE Diagnostic Tool 2011A .
*
I have used a diagnostics software package and car connection tool from Ross-Tech called VCDS for a VW Touareg.* This has enabled me to interogate control modules as well as change control module parameters for things like how long the lights stay on after the engine is turned off, or how many overtake flashes I get from the indicator stalk.
*
I am about to purchase a Volvo XC90 MY12 and would like to know if your VOLVO VIDA DICE Diagnostic Tool 2011A will provide the same sort of functionality as the Ross-Tech VCDS does for VW cars?
*
Thanks,
Baron.

interface(fake by the way) firmware has to be upgraded to be able to use it in newest cars. you can upgrade it only when bought subscriptions from volvo. another problem is you cant really find cracked 2011 C version, and version 2010A/2010C doesn't cover cars from 2011/2012.

Default Looking for a working VIDA DICE unit

Hi. I bought a VIDA DICE unit last year on ebay. I could not get it to connect to my 2004 XC90 T6. Other OBD2 scan tools are able to connect, so i assume that i got a faulty unit (the LED for interfacing with the car never comes on). Before i buy another unit, is there anything i can do to verify for sure whether it is my DICE unit that is faulty or the port on my car that is faulty somehow? Thanks for your feedback.

It is most likely that your original Dice unit is faulty but without a known working Dice and Vida setup to compare with, it's very difficult to know for certain.
This is why the Dice units I sell are so popular because they are tested by myself in an environment that is otherwise working perfectly.
This is how I weed out the approx. 20% of dead Dice and I only send out working ones.
I have happy customers in South America and even Australia so if you want me to price one for you, let me know.

Yes, i am thinking of buying another one. Before i do though, i need to figure out if my issue can even be diagnosed with Vida Dice. My vehicle has low power and is not very responsive. feels very heavy to drive, like it is dragging a locomotive behind itself. I could floor the gas pedal and the engine would hesitate and would rev up and it would "slugishly" respond. All these symptoms improve and the car gets some of its power back when it is .. well .. very low on fuel, as strange as it may sound. But, basically, when the low fuel light comes on, the vehicle responds to the slightest acceleration and i can feel its potential. It drives a lot smoother and the engine is quieter. Very strange problem. I've asked around and was advised to get the errors codes. Unfortunately there weren't any to diagnose with. Do you think Vida with a working Dice would be able to diagnose the problem? Thanks.
