Default CD player problems

The CD6 disc player in my 2006 XC90 plays for about 5 seconds and then goes totally blank. If I leave it on - but blank, the traffic reports will come through. The radio works fine.
Any ideas out there?

Sorry ‘Palwing’, but I don’t understand the question! It is a 6 CD changer as part of the fitted sound system - the handbook calls in an ‘Infotainment’ system. When I switch it on and the CD button is pressed - it comes up with a message saying “High Performance Sound” is currently playing disc 2 track 2, but goes off/black after approx. 5 seconds. It does however remember where it has got to in the track so, when I next get it working - i.e. switch off, remove the key and start again, it will play from where it got to last time.
Regards

Sorry that it’s been so long I have finally managed to remove the CD player, this photo shows the information on the top of it.
