I think I'll stick with my old style plug.

Quick, simple, what more do you need?

1) Lift flap
2) Insert plug
3) Release flap (Which is also the lock)
4) ????
5) Profit.

Another good thing is if you forget to unplug it for any reason it doesn't rip the plug out - at most it breaks a 20p bit of plastic.

Dead right villan.I,ve used and fitted both types and the 13pin is just a slightly different way of doing a very simple job.The 7pin setup has stood the test of time and as far as i,m concerned when dealing with very low voltage i want the largest contact area i can get.

ME..fitted well over 500 of the 13pin plugs over past few years and compared to the fleet vans with 7 pins its nearly all the 7 pins which are corroded or the plugs fall out and go along the floor and get broken up(well any plug will get trashed if it goes along the floor but the 13pin for those who dont know locks in place unlike the 7 pin which has no lock and is easily pulled out of the socket

But that my view of the diffrent plugs plus with 13 pins plugs u get all the electrics on 1 socket and plug unlike 7 pins which need 2 plugs and sockets and a lot of newer cars getting twin electrics on the tow bar is a bit tight to the rear bumper

I'd rather have the plug pull out of the socket though - its that or have to spend ££/time having a plug rewired
