Default 1997 v70 AWD Obscure Towbar - Any thoughts welcome

Hi All,

After some seriously exhaustative surfing & looking at all 250 towing posts on here I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask...

I just bought a very nice '97 v70 awd which has a tow bar cross bracing installed but is missing the means to attach a tow ball or swan neck. Due to the original colour of the paint on the cross brace it looks as if it's a factory fit item but I can't find any pictures / installation manuals that match it.

It's very hard to explain so I've added some pics...

What I wanted to know is has anyone seen one of these before and if so what the missing bit looks like, and where I might be able to get one?

Thank You all in advance,

It looks almost Australian/American for their tongue type hitches; a large flat piece of metal that is about 2" wide and 1/2" thick that sometimes has a slight kink in it that puts the tow ball to the right position.

Something like this:

Thanks Guys...

Ed - I thought that but haven't been able to find anything similar on Oz or Yank sites that I've looked at. It just looks like it's missing the adapter plate which has the forks on it....
