Default Volvo V70 2005 = All keys lost any options

Hi All,

Any advice welcomed.

(V70, 2005, 2.4, diesel, 150000miles)

So I purchased the car with only one key and now ive gone and lost that one key.

The vehicle is open (Mid age moment again).

Tried auto replacement key guys and all backing away from it, due the complicated immobilser set up. Volvo havnt got back to me but suspect the cost is astronomical.

Is it correct that it linked to the ecu and potential the mirror etc? thus its costly.
Do I have any option?
Dont need it lock just start?
Happy to pay £200- 300.

Manchester area. But would have to be a on the drive job.
Or its heading to the scrap man.

Thanks

Find the key isnt proving to be success, due to not sure where I lost it while being drunk.

You could get a complete set of locks, keys and gubbins from a breaker and change everything over. Not sure what exactly you would need, but it has been done. Volvo.will sort but they will need the car at their premises - cost will be prohibitive.

Does your insurance policy cover lost keys?

there is only one answer , get it towed to a volvo dealer and ensure you buy 2 sets of keys/fobs

Finally got round to ringing volvo after they didn't call back.

£457 quid for a new key and have to get it there which will be £200ish flat bed tow.

Expensive few pints that for a lost key.

Going to have one more go with auto electrical. But be ring same people who said no.

Any hot wire experts?

Happy to sell parts after that, if someone could link me to best group etc. it would be appreciated.

Tempted to get onto twitter and mither hq for lack of sustainability. I'm sure they will send someone straight out lol
