Not so much a copy, but a return to previous spec....I really miss the forward-folding passenger seat that was available in the previous generation of Volvos - certainly made the car into a proper load carrier when required.

If it helps, I was going to get another XC90 at the end of my lease in October - the first time I've ever gone for the same car or even brand consecutively.

Decided to keep it an extra year (possibly two) in the end.

One thing to consider though, but the next gen is due for a reveal in 2021 and apparently on sale in 2022.

As you're looking at a longer term purchase, and you'll only get it next year, that might be a consideration?
Thanks for your real life views.

In an ideal world I would wait for the new generation model. Unfortunately the lease on my current company car expires in April. I am opting out of a company car so certainly need something from April. I can always look to part ex in 2022 if the next generation is that much better.

It might be a bit tongue in cheek, but the exploits of Elon Musk genuinely put me off ever owning one of the cars....

And the 48" wide load area of the MK1 XC90.

Also, why does Volvo’s hybrid tech have to be so damn expensive too?
My new Land Rover Discovery Sport has a system similar to pilot assist, if that helps.

Seriously, does anyone who enjoys cars really want something that exudes the desirability and charisma of a second hand washing machine? Friend of mine has a Teslar S and it's just so joyless it's almost one dimensional, the sort of thing you buy once, show it to all your friends then park it on the drive and forget it. Used mainly by people who like virtue signalling.
