Our MY18.5 had rhythmic indicators, our current one is about as rhythmic as a chimp with a toy drum…

(Or one of my kids, for that matter)

Why?? I noticed it immediately in the new car and now I hear it every time!

[QUOTE=Recharge60;2783429]Hi, Sharing expereince and seeking advice after first 3 months of owning a T8 XC60 Recharge R-Design Pro. Main issue is with Media system. Other possibly relevant point is that this is the Harman Kardan music system.

I have a mild hybrid and have the same issue. Sound goes off at least once a week resulting in resetting the system. Normally the first reset causes issues with the speakers being either tinny or crackling and needed to reset again. Told by dealer it’s a common international issue which needs Google to fix and release an update however, there is no planned work by Google to fix issue. As customers we have to just put up with it till a fix is found. Rubbish situation for a car starting at £44k.

Also when sound goes off the Volvo on call does not work, they can hear you but you can’t hear them. Great if your in an accident or the car breaks down.

@SouthamptonStu, I got a bollocking by my dealer when i told them i had to "reset" the system several times!

They told me that that should be only carried out in a garage when the car is connected to the computer system.

Just a heads up there.

I would be looking for a new dealer if I got a bollocking. We are the customer and it seems to me a lot of people are having Software issues that Volvo seem incapable of solving. Mine seems to be OK apart from sometimes losing the speed camera warning and traffic sign info. I am worried about taking mine in for its service in case they update something and make it worse

@Nippy, 99.9999995% of all the issues are to do with the MY22 XC60 and the Google Infotainment center and and all the other bits of the car its gets into.

SO being a MY20 you should be OK.
BUT......
You never know what a software update might do!

With regards to the dealer, that was the Service desk i was talking about.

Hi Frankie, I was not able to reset the Radio specifically. I did use the factory reset option on the control panel but that did not reset my radio. I took it into the garage and they had to reinstall the software.

Default to conclude - total battery failure

Hi, just to wrap up on this issue for now. I never made it to my booked in slot. The car intermittently failed to start the next day. Called VoC and they called a tow truck to take it to the dealer. Dealer got to look at it the next day. Total battery failure - would not start. Spent the night on a trickle charge and fine the next day. They tell me they did a software re-install however all my settings were still as I left them except a had the radio and reverse camera back. The dealer thinks that these systems started shutting down as the car needed to preserve battery.

Obviously concerned that a brand new car can drain a brand new battery within a couple of months. I had to stop the service engineer when he started to tell me that I need to drive it for long distances to recharge the car battery. There is no way that should have drained like that.

My hunch is that a piece of code in the software has left a system open when the car was shut down and that has drained the battery. I have no clear evidence of this. I dont understand the relationship between the drive batteries and the combustion batteries. The car was plugged in and charging when this happened. I would have thought any drawdown on the battery would have come from the drive train batteries.

Anyway, the car has been working as expected these last few weeks. With the exception of I lost the LTE network connection for 12 hours. Noticed by google going into (and staying in) off-line mode and the VoC Emergency SOS light / button flashing red the whole time. I think this was initiated by driving (a long distance) through the Scottish borders where there was no network connection. Slightly frustrated that it did not reconnect when I did get back into a network covered area. This all reconnected the next day.

Default Same Just Occurred on Our V60 B3

Wife just got home from work; no audio, no indicator tick, no SatNav voice, no parking sensor bleep.

Hopefully reassured that a software upgrade will repair this as according to replies on this thread.

Whatever resolution/issues this creates I’ll post for reference…
