Oh I can add in a comment about fuel

Don't know what the score is in Belgium but here in Holland EURO95 used to be EURO95 then it became E5 essentially - EURO95 with 5% ethanol. Now they still call it EURO95 in most places but it is actually E10 with 10% ethanol...

...this means when restoring a fuel system it could very well be a good idea to use parts that can deal with ethanol.

Be also prepared for water in fuel seperation problems in vehicles that sit for a while.

####

Suspension:-

Some people like to replace rubber bushings with poly - some people say this can cause cracking of suspension components - so on a car with disco coloured poly bushings check for cracks more than you might for a car with out.

####

Brakes:-

The only shock I had with the brakes on my PV was the cost of a brake drum puller that would actually pull the buggers off (!)

####

When rebuilding a B18 or B20 engine look out for modern front and rear crank seal kits - these might already be fitted. These kits are a nice upgrade but remember the seals won't be listed in the Amazon parts book - so when removing modern seals make notes of parts numbers before you put them in the bin.

Camshaft timing gearing is also a thing with a little bit of fibre cog vs metal war going on...

...along with many a disccussion about camshafts (that often seem to me to be pretty much the same!)

Oh yes

(I'll stop in a minute - honest)

Keep an eye out for wider steel wheels that look like the factory ones - these are trendy in the Volvo world and come at a premium price

People like overdrives too - if I were you I'd examine very carefully how the conversion (in particular the metal work) has been done.

As always wiring on an old car can be a nightmare if several owners have added on to gawd knows what on to gawd knows what...
