'93 440 Xi (B18U) - loose hose, where does it go?!

At the wekend I replaced my heater matrix and when finished was in the engine compartment and noticed a small hose was loose, I'm sure it wasn't loose before I started.

The hose appears to start from under the air cleaning unit. Its about 4mm across with a 2mm hole down the middle?

The tube isn't very long amd could at a strech reach as far as the distributor cap (to give you an idea of length)

Any ideas where the other end should go?

Does it sound like it'd be ok to drive it 3 miles to a local garage to check (they deal with old volvo so would be ok if I could get to them)

If you could upload a picture so we can see it that would be good, the engine bay is littered with hoses!

I wouldn't try and drive it unless you are 110% sure it's not leaking any fluid and won't damage the car.

But yeah, if you can, upload a pic to assist the diagnosis.
