Mark,

They looks absolutely brand new!! Like you said recently, well worth the time, effort and money. It's amazing what a good seat trimmer can do....

They are also so much more supportive than the old half leathers Just waiting for a dry day to fit my minty door cards.

Can't believe I will have had Trigger for nearly a year come this October ! How time flies when your having fun ( and spending an absolute fortune ) I might do a full list of all the things I've done since I've had her ( without adding up the amount of money)

Still got loads more to do to get her in tip top shape

Invest in a few new clips for the door cars before you start Mark, especially what i call the "clothes pegs", three along the bottom of the front door cards if the 940 is the same as the facelift 760 as i think it is. Very easy to lose them and/or break them.

https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/p...4/1338144.html

That's the part number and pretty picture. Price in July was £1.10 each, i think + VAT but i ordered some other stuff at the same time, can't see the total on the photo of the receipt and can't find the receipt either.
Seems they're used on all7/9xx and also the S/V90 as well.

Thanks for the tip Dave but I already have a few spares in preparation.
Just need a dry day to get on with it

You mean like this Dave? Ironically my 960 mk1 was also a 94L and had the same (real) wood inlays on the doors and dashboard.....

That's pretty much the idea i had Kev, yes. I also have plans to extend it somewhat to the automatic transmission selector escutcheon and from the top of the cente console trim down past the handbrake and the glovebox handle etc.

I'm currently looking at some veneers on fleabay but none appeal at the moment. Walnut burr veneer is illegal except for that from the American Walnut (not sure why that one isn't but apparently the original walnut tree is endangered or something) but that doesn't have many burrs in it and the grain isn't to my liking.

It also looks a bit grey to me, really want a more "caramel" sort of colour.

Got my subframe all cleaned up and painted. Thought it would be good as everything else is going to be nice and shiny

I'll be fitting new engine mounts as well

Cars with earlier style dashboard have demister vents set into tops of door cards whereas those with the later style have them in the outer edges of the dashboard itself.
