Default Front park assist fault

Hi all

I have 2010 exec with front and rear park assist, lately the front sensors go berserk when setting off from a standstill the is no message on the dash, it seems to be a faulty sensor however I dont know which one. I have listened to each sensor and they are all gicing clicking noises.

Any advice would be highly appreciated

Vida allows you to test each sensor in turn and shows the distance data.
Anything else is guessing.

Mind you it could also be water in the sensor cabling behind the bumper. Or between sensor and sensor housing.

My rear sensors go a bit crazy in the wet but are fine when everything dries out.

Thanks for your response
Is there a way of disabling the front sensors or both ? I tried unplugging the cable at the rear module but that showed an error on the dash, for the time being I have to press the button near the gear lever each time I start the car, I have the rear camera fitted so i can do without the sensors all together

You disable the parking sensors by pressing the button on the dash, or unplugging the control unit.

Both of which you have done

I have a 2008 and I've had twice to replace the front sensors. Different sensors each time though.

As pointed out, VIDA is the only way to tell. It will tell you which sensor is at fault.

Regarding replacing the sensor, it's not difficult for the front. An original sensor from Volvo is expensive. I went with an aftermarket sensor which worked fine.

Can anyone point me in the direction of replacement sensors that will not break the bank, I will go to my local indy who has Vida to diagnose which sensor is at fault.

Thanks

Valeo parking sensor 1341637 890005

This was the part I purchased from the local parts shop. I do see it sold on ebay but the price is more expensive compared to here.
