I'd be inclined to go this route, use potential rejection as leverage for suitable loan car and and some free servicing for inconvenience (but be prepared to follow through or it's an empty threat). Obvious downside to rejection is waiting for another to arrive, dealer unlikely in that scenario to give you anything to run around in.

excellent service guaranteed
his is also a very good point, bit more difficult in a car showroom but try to pick a 'busy' period and have a slightly raised voice about your knackered car of 5 days and crap customer service.....works wonders!

Angry

this is just the start for you
If i had my time back i would reject.

similar problems to you car now has new drive shaft after 5 weeks of garage time also had to take polestar off as air intake noises unaceptable on a car of this value. volvo has had mine for 5 weeks since 1/8/10 and has done 300 of the 3000 on the clock and guess what its going back in on monday for turbo fault and new fault message on display today, sorry for ranting but if i was you i would give them the spare keys and log book and take their xc90 demo until they supply a new unused one to your satisfaction.

I have a Lotus, and touch wood, to date it has been more reliable than the XC90, and is a million times easier to work on than the XC90 (the smile whilst driving it is bigger too!).

However, the XC90 is safer........

But can still get the family in, luggage in the boot, and at 6ft 5" I can get behind the wheel.

But hey, if someone gave me an Exige, I wouldn't take any convincing!

Thanks for the advice Guys.

Suprisingly enough after my rantings to Volvo customer services of wanting an equivelant loan car and also my first months finance payment refunding whilst the car sat in the garage awaiting new parts....

They have decided to contact the dealer and told them to take the required part from an XC90 sat on their forecourt and put it into mine.

Got my car back the following day...Brilliant...but why not do this in the first place instead of trying to take the ****????

The dealer put in £20 of diesel as compensation...woopy doo!!!!
