Default XC60 T6 advice (2009)

New member, so go easy...

I'm starting to look at the XC60. Currently in an interim car after some low life stole my new (leased) Golf R and 10 year of Audi A6 (police think the former was a targeted theft and the latter opportunistic for parts)....

I've come to the conclusion that high end Merc, BMW and Audi Group are all very high profile targets for gang/target thefts.

So I've decided to be a little more practical and stumbled over an advert for a T6:

2009 XC60 T6 (285) SE LUX from a Volvo dealer for £15k. Ticks all of the boxes - swift but not silly, well specced (pano roof, nav, etc). 25k miles.

I generally do low mileage (8k ish) - mixed use with a big blast to France every year on holiday.

1) Are there any specifics I should watch for on the XC60 T6? - recalls, issues, nuances, stand out features that will convince me to stay petrol and not go diesel?

2) Is the price point reasonable? At this level I'm minded towards dealer rather than trader.

3) How long can the dealer warranty be extended for (and are they worth having in the UK?)

There are so few on the road... I'm not expecting Golf R performance, but a nice oomph is welcome. MPG is not a concern providing it is over 20.

Many thanks!

PS I did a search but couldn't find answers - apologies if I used the wrong search terms

There are not Many T6 around but no problems whatsoever ... The police use them . You can get over 30 mpg on a long cruise . You can also get 12 mpg if you drive very hard .. There are some clever tricks and novel ideas in this engine ..

I have owned a number of Volvo's with the T6 petrol Engine. The XC60 even with 25k could be a good buy provided you get the 12month Volvo warranty. You can achieve 325 bhp with a Polestar upgrade. My XC60 has the 2 ltr 245 bhp FWD. Stick to petrol. All future petrol engines will be 2ltr turbo. I believe the T6 is AWD. If you are buying cash make an offer of £13500 but as its petrol it may have a queue as nobody wants diesels anymore.
