Congrats Saturnatus

Looks like a great car and the asking price was very good.

When I was helping Lyndsey out with the photos, I expressed an interest, to which she replied I could have it for £250, which is what I paid. There's a few small cosmetic issues that need sorting, a squeeky belt and some play in the rack (only a little) - it came with a spare rack anyway, as well as an alty, couple of headlamps, waterpump and a bunch of new hoses.

Thoroughly enjoyed the drive back and now have the problem of trying to find somewhere to put this and my 850

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to say a big heartfelt thank you for all
your help.

As you will see the car has gone to a good home,
(hopefully, it will be up for sale again if the garage isn't built!)
it was very, very sad to see her go - but I can now
start to try and rebuild my life again, down one hubbie,
and one car but have just found out that I will be spending
Christmas and New Year in Dubai - will think of you all,
very briefly, whilst sitting on a beach!

Once again, thank you - and should I ever learn to drive,
will be back on this site looking for my own "lady".

Happy Christmas and all the very best for 2009

Lyndsey x

And a Merry Xmas to you, too; good luck for the future, have fun, and be happy.

All the best, Nick H.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.

I've never seen a '86 740 with such a mint interior. Looks like a very well maintained Volvo indeed.

On the pictures of the spare parts I think I can see the following items:

- one headlight assembly;
- one power steering pump;
- one complete steering rack/housing(?) (what's this called in English?)
- one ignition coil;
- one windscreen wiper arm;
- one alternator.

I hope I got all names right, I'm translating this on the fly.

Indeed, don't sell it just for parts. By the looks of it, this car really deserves it to be cherished a bit more.

Edit: Just noticed that I was a bit late with my reply... Congrats Saturnatus, I think you have acquired a very nice 740.

All correct Although the windscreen wiper doesn't seem to have made it back with me. Oh well!
