Part. No. Description
31316842 -13, R-Design Applies to XC60 R-design models built before week 20 2013, which have not been supplied from the factory with 20" wheels.

So do you know if one is needed for the SE Lux MY 2015
I think that this would be a dealer question - it was certainly a build requirement when I bought the current car if I wanted 20" wheels on it, and my cars isn't an R-Design and was built after the date you specify.

They may have since built it into the car, but probably best to check?

I doubt this price increase is justified as the reinforcement kit is a couple of brackets that fit onto the radiator costing $35.87 as here http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/pr.../31316842.html

Got two sets of 19" rims for both winter and summer tyres, I think this size is the best balance between comfort and sportiness, as even 18" feel too soft and unstable, when we first test drove the XC60.

They used to also fit strengthen plates to the top of the shocks and a couple of other places for the 20" wheels - may not be available outside the dealer network which is why you are not seeing it.

Unless you are fortunate enough to have 4C.

@NigelDay, of course suspension plays a great role - and 4C we have, but even with R-Design Sports suspension I would definitely recommend 19".

Of course it is always a personal choice, but the ESSENTIAL thing is to test drive your car with the tyre profile and suspension you are intending to buy (or change to) AND on roads you are familiar with.

Hi all
I have been pleased with the ride in my 20" R design xc60 awd - good road handling and have not been as rattled around as I feared, having come from s60 with 17"!
But can i fit my winter 17" rims & Nokians from the S60 on my xc60? - local dealer hasn't been able to answer me yet!
Thanks
David

If your s60 tyres are 235/65 r17 then you will be ok.
