Have you torqued the wheel nuts correctly?

Is your car front wheel drive? What your wife describes sounds like torque steer.

I test drove a xc60 fwd D4 before I ordered a AWD D5. It suffered from wheelspin which surprised me and felt a bit unstable.

That seems soft, check what the B pillar says. My S60 is run at 38 front 35 rear. My previous model S60, which was lighter, ran 36 front, 34 rear.

Torque steer is not something I've experienced in the Volvo. My FIAT Coupe would jump lanes due to the short and long shafts from the gearbox to the wheels. Could be the traction control and torque vector braking needs looking at if the car is moving about as you describe.

How many miles has your car covered ?

Same mileage as my 2011 S60. My car has 476Nm torque, I can give it full throttle in 4th with my hands off the wheel and it goes straight.
I've got 235/40x18 Hankook V12s on the front and Continental SportContact3 on the rear.

To be honest I think it's mire of a tramline issue where if I'm gicing it some it sometimes picks up a rut and pulls a bit. I've put some more air in tyres

Increased tyre pressure makes it worse as if steering is too light
