Default A pillar trim removal on v60?

I could do with removing the A pillar trim as there is a document holder hooked underneath which id like to bin.

Slightly concerned about the air bag though and wondering if anyone has removed their trim for any reason?
Thanks
Christian

Incredibly useful item - stick parking tickets and permits under it rather than smothering your windscreen.

Sometimes end up with hire cars that don't have this and I really miss it on them

Totally agree. Start to attempt to remove it and who knows what problems / damage might ensue.

Im 99% i will never use it.

My parking pass at work goes in the glove box when not in use then on the dash when required.

If there was a way to easily and reversibly remove mine I would do it. When I first got the car it would rattle against the windscreen (had been used for a disability parking card) and required a little bit of clear padding underneath to stop it.

Where I live there are no printed parking tickets that need to be displayed and it has no use.

You are really lucky that you have no Pay & Display car parks where you live - everywhere around here we have to buy a ticket to park and the plastic clip is a real boon, it saves sticky patches on the screen.

The last post in this thread http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=248833 gives some instructions, but never tried it myself.

That plastic clip used to annoy me and I was going to attempt, but never got around to it, and now I don't notice it nearly as much as I did initially.

Think the only way to remove is to have the windscreen removed and then it will come out.

Use clean screwdriver or trim removal tool to pop up the bit of plastic at top of pillar.

Then you can give the pillar trim a pull and it'll come loose.

Should give enough to get it out or snap it behind the trim.

But I do find it really useful so be sure you want to remove
