Default Wings

Been up the local breakers today and there's a 2004 V40 1.8 just arrived pretty much all intact.

Can't see any reason for it not to fit, but is there any reason the passenger side front wing won't fit on my 2002 S40? It's got no rust on it, unlike mine... just don't fancy stripping it down if it's a waste of time. Also, any helpful advice on their removal? Bolts on the top and down the vertical section are 10mm heads which is fine, just wondering what else I'll need

Thanks in advance

V40 and S40 wings are the same as far as I know, as long as you don't mix the phases, but both of those would be phase 2 so you should be all good.

Wings are identical on all phase 2 cars, so not a problem. As for removing, it is held everywhere by 10mm bolts. 3 at the top when you open the engine bay, 1 from the drivers door, 2 under the car and one between the wing and the bumper and that is the hardest to remove due to rust

Thanks for the responses chaps, heading over later on today with a shopping list and tools! The car is still pretty much intact if anyone is interested as it's only just arrived, will post pictures later on, could be of use to someone in the Nottingham area.

Unfortunately when it came to the inner bolt like you mentioned, it revealed a huge amount of rot that had set in everywhere, including all up the inside of the panel, which promptly started to fall apart! Was worth a try though, looked good from the outside.

Had a couple of interior bits and an indicator unit in the end.

Out of interest has anyone taken their wallet out and bought an aftermarket one from Euro or anywhere else? In the bus industry when we buy aftermarket panels they are often of appaling quality compared to OE ones but wondered if maybe the situation was better with car parts

MOT history of this car has extensive advisories re corrosion going back some time. Looks like it's the correct colour for my one though just too far away.
