A dealer is a dealer which is not a garage. A garage services different marques. A dealer specialises in one or two.
Please re-read your post as if you were reading it cold. I think you'll find that it is implied that you speak of a Volvo dealer.

IM only reflecting on the (DEALERS) whatever marque they have been as to what can/does happen and slightly defending this OUTFIT called RTMECHANICS and their parts suppliers regarding the quote (inferior parts.)
IT is you IC that infact started this thread after recently visiting above mentioned outfit and in the good nature of most forums posting GOOD things about them. Ive only picked up on 1 comment IF persons get offended etc then welcome to the real world |

Hello all,
Seems to me that 1997 T5 CD's first post wasn't obviously defending (even slightly) RT Mechanics, following on from AdamskiC70 making a sweeping accusation. However, seems that what Adamski suggested may be happening at RT does in fact happen at the dealer (brand not known, but not Volvo) that 1997 T5 CD works for. By the way, noticed that Adamski got a big thank you recently for helping out a chap with his starter motor (assume there is only one Adamski here). IC quite rightly (along with a couple of others) noted that this is bad news and at the same time mistakenly makes a link with 1997 T5 CD working for a Volvo dealer, which is an easy misunderstanding to have made given the thread/forum. Nonetheless, 1997 T5 CDs conviction that it does happen in the *&^% real world is concerning, though in truth not surprising. Seems Julie read this the same way as me. The real issue though is not IC's assumption that 1997 T5 CD worked for a Volvo dealer, but that it goes on at all!!!! 1997 T5 CD, don't know where you work, and it seems you don't want to be a whistle blower, but what do you do? Now you've gone public, all on here are going to be willing you to do the right thing. That is report the dealer to the franchiser. Maybe you could do that anonymously. Anyway, thanks for being so open. Everyone friends again I hope Oli

i read the above posts the same Oli - as you said -> worrying but not surprising. How about if said dealer bought 'non-genuine' parts from the motor factor when he new for a fact that the parts were identical but not in a volvo/merc/ford/vauxhall (delete as appropriate) branded box. I am sure I have read on here for example that the source of volvo HT leads is openly known and the identical product can be bought vastly cheaper if not in a volvo box! Obviously it is different if those savings arent openly passed on to the customer but what if they were

After reading the last two pages of rsey posts...
wouldn't it be a nice bit of symmetry (and funny) if the "dealer" that 1997 T5 CD works for is... (drum roll).... RT Mechanics!!! Hey T5 CD you live in Sussex, you could commute from there.... ... this is how rumours start |
