If you check the install post, you see its easy to route the cables without disturbing any of the seat fabric/leather...

David is CORRECT ..In my C70 Head rest I have the Speaker & Mic for my Hands free kit & the cables go down thru the seat but ARE NOT inside the "Tube" they are attached to the outside of it (With small "Zip" ties) ...

I would guess that you could remove the Screen from the Headrest unit pull the wires out from the Tube & send them down the outside edge & on into the Seat Ect ....

Another thing I noticed is my C70 Headrests are NOT "Height adjustable" so the cables on the outside of the "Tubes" are not seen anyway as the Headrest is "Butt-Up" the the top of the seat. Also remember to leave enough "spare Cable" under the seat to enable you to "pull up" the headrest when you want to remove it.

Volvo has always been against height adjustable headrests.

daft if you ask me, im 6'7" so i need them to adjust upwards or they would do me right in the back of the neck in an accident.

as for feeding cables through the seats, if the plugs are in the way and you really want the wiring hidden take the wiring off from the screen end, replace it with longer stuff and feed it up from inside the seat into a multiplug on the bottom of the screen.

Their reasoning is that people adjust their headrest too low which means that they are not protected in the event of an accident. Or rather, people do not adjust their headrests at all just leaving them in their bottom position. But yes, for tall people it can be an issue.

Its still daft, the people who dont take the time to set them right should take that responsibility themselves while people who want to put them in the right place should have that option, why favour the numpties over the sensible people.

Darwins theory should come into effect, if your to lazy to find out where your headrest should be, maybe a broken neck would stop you passing those genes onto another generation.

On my aftermarket DVD head rests I could unscrew the posts.
You could reach inside the head rest from the post hole and get the wires out. No need to remove the screens.
To attach them to the Volvo seats I made a cut out like on the original ones and they lock in the same place as the Volvo ones.
The wires are not visible.
The cable routing through the seat in this link is much more elegant than mine, and less painful, but unfortunately posted after I installed mine.
