Default Stupid Question!!

Noticed one day that there is a bit of extra up and down movement on the indicator and wiper stalks (on its axis, not the column itself). At same time, so in other words it is the ali cast piece that wraps round the steering column and contains the steering lock etc. Obviously not a serious issue but one that annoyed me!!

Took some bits off but can't see if there is a way that I should be able to tighten it up. Couple of pics to attempt to add to the explanation

Everything marked in green moves. Only a mm or 2. The movement is there independantly of the steering lock being on.

The steering lock is held on with 2 security bolts which you can sometimes tighten with a centre punch, but it may be easier to remove them with a pin punch and replace them with standard allen bolts

Thanks Rips. I'll have a better look at it.

Are they shear bolts?

It doesn't actually feel loose as such, just this frustrating slight rotation.
