Default Alloy Wheels

Recently inherited a 440GTL from my Gt Uncle. He brought this in 1993 when he was 78.

He has just passed away and only ever having covered 11,000 miles. I plan to keep hold of the old girl.

Only problem is the Alloys look a bit worse for wear. Appart from this the car is immaculate.

I am after alloys that are as new. Can somebody please guide me.

Are there any othe cars out there with the same spec. can I use say 'corsa wheels for example'.

Or can I buy the originals somewhere.

I will appreciate any help from the expreienced.

Thank you

Hi,
Why not get yours refurbished? I got my 940 alloys done last year by Lepsons, Gillingham, who have an excellent reputation. They are still looking 'as new'.
Cost about £60/wheel.
All the best,
Ben

I had some wheels refurbed by Lepsons about a year ago. They do a superb job - acid dip, machining etc.etc..

I saw some pretty badly damaged rims while I was waiting for mine to be fitted, which they will most certainly put back to their former glory.

The different colour options were interesting aswell & worth a look.

What style are you after? I've got some Taurus for sale atm,

Pictures here, big versions available Linky

The pics show the one mark that is on them. From memory there are 2 good tyres re tread, but they havn't been used for 12months or so since I've had them. I really don't know what to ask tbh, I've seen them go for over £200 a set in this condition, I've advertised them at £175 on V3M, but as I said there, I'll listen to offers, I'd prefer pennies to even more wheels at this point in time, and I don't have a car for these anymore.

Hi there,

I have some standard volvo alloys that I had on my 480. they are in good condition with good tyres. at the moment i have some lovely Vesa alloys on my own car (which I used to replace the standards). I would sell them if for the right price, they are really quite classy looking 'spoke' type rims with GT tyres. They came only on the GT model of the 480, of which only 250 were produced, so are very very rare.
If you are interested I can send you some pics, but I do live in Ireland so would have to take into account cost of posting...could be more expensive than you are willing to pay. Said I'd let you know!
