Default is this the correct lower engine mount for the s70

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-LOWE...item3cc51bd646

Ive just had all my shocks replaced and mechanic told me the lower engine mount is shot and I can see movement but am unsure of what to order as been told the above listing looks like a gearbox mount.

That's the engine lower steady bar.

The S/V70 doesn't have gearbox mountings as such since the engine and transmission is held to the subframe as the same unit. There are five (I believe) mountings in total for the engine...

One at the top which holds the engine to the bulkhead, one down by the cambelt, two large ones on the bottom of the engine which the engine 'sits on' and the one in the link which is also at the bottom... probably best to clarify which one the mechanic actually meant since the 'lower engine mount' could refer to any of them except the one at the top I guess...

I just replaced the one by the cambelt on my V70, the engine could be physically moved a lot of one gripped it by the oil cap and shook it and one closer examination the rubber had delaminated from the metal in the mounting, fitted a new one and now the engine is nice and firm. I believe that in general the ones that go most often are the one that went on mine and the top mount.

cheers, i better clarify! he sort of showed me the mount briefly but to be honest i know sweet fa about cars! but its definitely driver side and seemed to be the mount closest to the front of the car, lower side and was causing the driver side of the engine to slightly shake.

Sounds like it might be the cambelt one...which is on the drivers side.

Couldn't find one on ebay, the one I used came from Parts for Volvos...

For some reason they only had the ones for cars with 280mm brake discs and the AWD models. I think I did ask Volvo how much a genuine one was but I forget how much they said; some after market parts can be a bit dogy, Scan Tech for example don't have a great rep on here I don't think but when the part came despite being advertised as a Scan Tech it was actually a Meyle product which are supposed to be quite good.

Default engine mount

If its the one closest to the cam belt and if it's the same as the late 850 one the one I bought cost around £40 from main agent. Fitting was a bit of a pain as I had to jack the engine up to refit the mount

Yeah, thats the one !, it will give vibrations if it is perished. sometimes will even feel as if the gear changes are bad. its cheap, and easy to replace, and it completely worse it.
