Default c70 2.0T Front Disks

Can anyone tell me the correct replacement size for the front disk on a 2000X C70 2.0T please. Original rim size was 16". Also the Volvo part number. Many thanks.

The 320mm brakes are not 'Police Spec', but they certainly were the top spec available from Volvo. They are now no longer obtainable however.

And then in 2003, despite what they said in their own sales brochures which listed 302s for the T5, they only supplied 280s for all the convertibles (the coupes having been discontinued), including the T5. And for 2004 they apparently only listed and supplied 280mm but for 2005 I think they went back to 302s for the T5 at least.

The only sure way of knowing what was originally provided is probably to get your dealer (or Rufe at FRF in Swansea) to check using your chassis code (not to be confused with the chassis number). This code is found on the VIN plate under the bonnet, and the code is the at the very bottom right corner, 7 or 8 digits long, numbers and letters.

From the first two digits of your chassis code you can tell if your vehicle left the factory with the smaller 280mm disks:

280mm/31262092
Marked: 12, 14, 16, 18, 22, 24, 26, 28, 32, 36, 39, 42, 44, 46, 48 ,49 52, 54, 72, 76, 78, 1C, 3C, 7C, 2R, 2K, 3K, 2W, 3W, 5W, F1, F2, F3, H9 F5, F6, K1, K4, K5, K6, K7, T6, W7, W9, M6, M7, AW, 34, W1, W3, 6W, M5

I hope this helps.

The first 2 digits of my chassis code are P6 which from the list above would suggest that it didn't have 280 discs - but it did.

The Infomation I posted is what I received when I asked Rufe if mine had 280s, mine was 2W and was indeed 280.

Frankly the best way to be sure you get the right size is to measure what you have already, I was swapping to 302s as it really does make a difference in a big old car like a V70.

I suspect that my car was an incorrect build as Volvo listed the 302s for the 2003 T5 but delivered the car with 280s.
