Default 960 seats

I've owned my 960 for nearly a year now and although I'm not keen on the colour I've stuck with the beige leather interior (for now anyway). My problem is that the leather has gone hard and slippery, I find I'm forever squirming around trying to sit upright after sliding down, also I keep hitting my head on the damn sunroof surround whiles't squirming to get upright. All this is giving me a bad back and making driving a bloody nightmare, I've tried some leather cleaner and sealer and it's helped a little but not enough..

Anyone offer any advice.....besides taking some rough sandpaper to the leather to scuff it up.

Replace with velour covers/seats. Much more comfortable.
My old 945 had leather seats and I hated them.

Proper leather feed should soften up any old leather, although as you've put some sort of "sealer" on, you'll probably have to clean that off first.

Once treated with the leather feed, apply a coat of the leateher colour restore and you will be amazed at the results.

I had a half leather (at the edges) 940 seat, and replaced the bottom half of the seat with a full leather 960 one to get the heated seat working to ease my back pain. I found the 960 base to be far comfier than the 940 base as it is definitely thicker than the old 940 one. This may be because it was out of a car with less wear.
I've not had a problem with sliding down the seat or movement. I did treat all the leather with quite sticky leather conditioner that softened it up a treat.
I have the T-shirt on back pain having degenerate disc disease and find the heater invaluable.
I saw your interior when I nabbed the front half of you Dad's silver 940 from you and although beige to the max it looked it very good nick.
Have you tried fiddling with the back lumbar support?
The seat base can easily be removed/replaced but I think trying to find a beige velour seat will be a tricky find!
740 seats I found to be less comfy than the 940.
cheers Carl.

I have a solution ........ !!!!

My C70 was showing signs of wear on the drivers bolster, so I re-coloured the seats .... the results were that good I ended up two toning the entire interior.

Step 1 -

The cracked leather / hard leather is just the colour applied to the seats which after time goes very hard and shrinks, but it looks like the leather itself has cracked which is not the case.

So using the Kit you first remove the protective coating on the seat and keep cleaning which removes the colour back to bear leather.

Step Two - Using the colour you massage the leather colour into the bear leather which also fills in any cracks in the leather

Step Three - Using the modelers spray gun supplied you spray a top coat of colour which provides a smooth finish (as the factory seats look).

Step Four - Apply a top coat of clear leather protector which stops the leather from scratching or the colour from being worn off.

I am just about to carry out the work on my 960, I will send a sample piece of leather off to the company who colour match it perfectly.

This all sounds like alot of work, but it only takes 1 weekends worth of work.....and well worth it when your seats look like new ....!

Take a look at this link it show my seats now they are finished.
