Default New turbo for a B200FT

Hi,

I've recently got into the Volvo game after purchasing a 940 2.0LT. I'm looking to get a new turbo as I feel the one on there is a bit tired.

Can anyone recommend me a good turbo replacement ?

thanks !

Default Would a turbo from a 230FT just bolt on ?

Something like this:

Yes it'll bolt on however you'd ideally need some other supporting mods to make the most of that turbo, a 19T flows quite a lot more air than the stock 13c.

if you want a turbo which just bolts in you need a 16g from an early T5...it will need clocking for rwd application. the turbo you have listed is not a straight fit, it will at least need a custom downpipe.
I actually have a 15g/19t hybrid which needs rebuilding.....

thanks for the reply,

I could make a custom down pipe for it. Do you know where I could find some more information on turbos and stuff? (Good threads or something)

Do you know where I could find some information on the turbos ? I'm just not 100% about the names of them (19T, 13c etc) and what they refer to.

I'll see if I can dig some threads up when I'm home.
Basically the 13c is what came on most 940 turbos, fine up to about 200bhp on a 2.3 (unsure on what the 2.0 is capable of). You've then got the 15g which came on 850 turbos, the early v/c/s70 cars came with a 16T on the T5 models. Then there's the 18 and 19T, can't remember what the 18 came on but the 19T was fitted to certain R models.

Now I think (not 100% on this) but the only difference is the size of the compressor housing, the exhaust housings are all the same size. Or vice versa, can't remember!
19T is the largest although not a big turbo by any stretch.
