Newbie from Essex
Hello all,
I have recently sold my Ford Focus that i had owned for 6years to step up into a beautiful example, 54reg, 44k S40 1.6SE. My biggest worry was having to really push hard to get the car going anywhere but she copes very well with motorway traffic and i am loving the 39mpg i am getting. Going from the Focus to a Volvo has subjected me to a few "what are you doing in a Granddads car" quotes but i really like the shape of the S40. Shall post pics of my latest purchase very soon. Kev |

Hello Kev, welcome to the forum, you will have to get used to using the gearbox and engine of your new s40 as it is a relatively heavy car with a mid range engine but I'm sure you will get used to it and yes they cope very nicely with motorway driving, lovely cars.

Welcome. I too had my leg pulled when I joined the Volvo fraternity.
But who cares. If the rest of the world wants to think you are driving a slow old tank driven by men in flat caps than let them. If it means that no one will try and steal your car, race you away from the lights, and generally not give youy a second glance, then great. It doesn't detract from the fact that you are driving a car that is generally better put together, certainly more comfortable and probably just as good in performance terms. Enjoy. |

Here is just to let you know what i went from, to what i am in now: Before: After: Although i miss the grint that i got from the Focus, i really do prefer the ride and smoothness of the Volvo. |
