Default Window winder

Has anybody had problems with the winder mechanism, mine is making 'clunking' noises on drivers side and is only 7000 miles on clock!! Is it a warranty job??

Is it droping more along the front edge than the rear and dropping in 'steps'? I just had the mechanism on my V50 rebuilt under gurantee for this reason... First they greased it (which stopped the noises, but not the stepping) then they dismantled the door and rebuilt it. It's now ultra smooth (smoother than the 2.5 year new loaner they gave me whilst working on mine). I's take it back and get them to repair it.

My passenger door does exactly this but it's outside of warranty, an expensive fix do you think?

I tend not to use it very much but it makes awful crunching noises going up and drops down in 'steps' (left, then right then left etc).

I suspect it would be - they had to remove all window fittings to sort it properly...
