Service & MOT Loan Car nonsense.

Morning,

My 940 has it's service and MOT today. Nothing terable I can think is of out of order (other than a broken handbrake cable that is also being replaced today).

I dropped it off and collected a loan car from the garage....the gentlemen who served me said "we have an S60 automatic loan car for you today, is that ok?", "it's a proper old Volvo and I'd imagine will drive just like your 940".

My response: "That’s great, I hope it doesn't drive like a 940 - I hope it's more like our V70".

The loan car is a 2017 S60 T4 Automatic that pushes out 177 hp.....Other than effortlessly getting down the road, starting, stopping and turning when I tell it. For better or worse, with the best will in the world, it drives nothing like a 1996 940 manual!

I know these mortals have to make small talk but where did this gentlemen come from - clearly never driven a "proper Volvo". I have never heard so much twaddle in my life.

I now wait with baited breath for a phone call to see how the Tank gets on....
