Little update
My cruise control has started working but it isn't all the time. But hey an intermittent cruise control is better than nothing. Normally if the car has been sat for a few hours (at work or over night) the cruise control doesn't come on. If I start the car drive it a little turn the engine off and back on I can use my cruise control. Definitely something to do with the connector in the steering shroud. Interesting one I have to revisit at some point. Thanks for the help! |

Update on this thread. What a pain this has turned out to be. After buying a new CPS and changing it, no difference. Booking it into a volvo specialist to get scanned by VIDA and a Brake Position Sensor fault comes up. Changing that at a grand price of £165..... not fixed. Safe to say right now I can't think what to do next. They did advise me if it doesnt work to take it back and let them have it for a few days so they can do an investigation. Already a few £££ into this, i would rather try and resolve myself. There are no new fault codes being shown in VIDA yet the cruise control still doesnt work. |

Have you got the fail code list from Vida? Guessing you don’t have Vida yourself?
If you do, check the steering wheel buttons are being read correctly when the cruise isn’t responding. |

as soon as the engine starts it won't come on. I've tried the whole clutch thing and since replacing the CPS i guess it can't be that. Being the complete idiot i am, i just went to check the connectors on the steering wheel, didnt disconnect my battery and now i have SRS-airbag nonsense lol.... Go to fix one problem and cause another. |

Manual or auto gearbox???
IF the car is a manual box I'd risk a 50p bet that your issue is the clutch position sensor...
Lots of info in pre 2008 V70 section including a cheep fix I and others have done... new volvo bit about £50... Cheers bob EDIT :-Opps!! just realized what the CPS in title is ..... please excuse senior moment. Cheers Bob Last edited by 100K+; Oct 7th, 2020 at 17:39. |
