yes .. the "Max safe" pressure is much higher ...
if your tyres were inflated high enough to cause the centres to wear on the low profile wide tyres volvo use , you would know about it if you ran over a pebble :-)

i read clan's advice Ages ago about the eco pressure helping a little in a few areas.
since then i have tried 38psi and 40psi in mine
38psi for Me seems a fair mix for ride quality, and ease of shoving the V50 by hand

it IS worth noting his advice to Check the wheels spin freely, more so on the rears where the calipers Can drag a little , a Proper clean of the rear calipers can sort that if you catch it before it gets to be a real issue.
