I have just got hold of a second hand laptop with a fresh install of windows 7 pro 64 bit. I am just not clear on where to start. I have connected the laptop to my wi-fi but no windows security updates have been installed yet. Should I let windows 7 download and install all its updates, and can I leave the windows updates set to automatically download and install after vida is installed? I note from the very helpful video that they have been turned off for the installation process, but not sure if they have all been downloaded and installed before the vida installation and are the automatic updates turned on again after?

Also, Windows 7 is supplied with internet explorer 8 pre installed. Vida requires IE9, but does that mean at least IE9 and will it install and run if I follow the windows recommendation and install IE11 or whatever the most up to date version of internet explorer is.

You tube videos will not play in IE8, but they will from IE9 onwards. Is vida 2014D the same ie won't work on IE8 but will work on IE9 onwards?

I've found that Vida 2014D installs and works seamlessly only on IE9 so my advice is to only use IE9.
Before considering installing Vida, Windows needs to be fully updated and running IE9.
Fully updated means everything except for further IE version updates.
Check every Windows update list before installing updates as Microsoft like to sneak in IE version updates automatically.
If IE10 or 11 appear in the update list, right click on them and click "hide update".

Manually check for Windows updates until you get the big green tick and "no more updates are available".
Then and only then do you install Vida.

Use IE9 only for Vida. For other internet use, use Chrome, Firefox, whatever.

Re:subsequent Windows updates after Vida install, make sure you have a system restore point for Vida and it's easy to troubleshoot if an update changes anything.

234 windows updates are now being installed.

When that is done I will update Internet explorer from IE8 to IE9, and set the windows updates to warn me and not auto-install so I can keep an eye on what they are doing in future.

Then I will set to work on the Vida 2014D installation.

There will likely be more than that in total.
Just keep restarting when Windows tells you and keep checking for updates until there are no more.

Installing Vida takes about 25 minutes but on a fresh operating system, the preparation needed to install Vida takes several hours.
Luckily, it's all low level, general computer stuff and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Default Final Five

The last 5 are available for sending as per original post @£140 each.

There's also a collect option from Cheshire for £130 each.

There will be no more after these as I don't want my kitchen to resemble a PC World Service Centre.
