I have never been a BMW fan although it does look very good on paper but the wife would kill me if I spent that sort of money on a new car.

Book yourself a test drive in a Volvo D5 ...
>MMMMMMMMM !

I had one as a loaner a few weeks back (V70 D5) and it was fantastic. It's going to be at least another 12 months before I change (I used to change cars every 12 months until I bought my current S70 but I just don't want to part with this car) and as I hear the pitter patter of Networkguy Junior on his way, a new car this year is well out of the window.

Networkguy,

Congratulations ! I'm sure you've got advice coming out of your ears but everything they say about sleep is true - start catching up now ! life will never be quite the same ever again ... our first is one in a few weeks - beware, it goes v quickly !

You WILL need an estate ....

My boss has just got himself a brand new V70 D5 ... I fear its probably quicker and more refined than my own tired 94 T5 estate :-(

All the best

Dr D

Sorry. That should have read D10 (the diesel one).

When you (kinda) say they don't last long, what sort of mileage do you expect... I'm used to bike tyres, so if they last more than 2000miles I'm happy!
