Hi Vulcon2023,

I take it the quote you obtained was from M R King - Volvo in Halesworth, unfortunately I think the other main dealers in county will have probably similar rates.

Suggest look on the Google search here :-

Same question has been asked on forum :-

Hopefully some other members on here in your area may be able to assist with some suggestions, but a good independent should be somewhere local.

For information my independent charges £75 / hour

Cheers
Steve

This is why I have started doing my own routine maintenance again after many years of leaving all that to the garage. It saves a fortune and when you suddenly remember you are overdue an oil change you can sort it out the same day without having to book/wait.

A very quick look online at what’s involved in changing belts on a V40 makes me realise why it’s so expensive. It also reminds me why I stick to RWD Volvos which were actually designed with maintenance in mind.

Good luck finding somewhere cheaper.
